Anatomy of a repair.

The odds are that unless you never leave the slip, at some point in your life you are going to put a scratch, or a ding, or a hole in your boat.  Maybe you already have?  Maybe you have run aground or in our waters hit a log?  Fortunately, it is not the end of the world.

Our next few blog entries are going to follow the progress of a repair to a sailboat that had an unfortunate mishap trying to leave a marina that had a lot of cross current.

Hull Damage

So what do you do?  The first thing the owner of this sailboat did was call CSR to arrnage to get the boat hauled out and an estimate started.  This all happened on Monday.  It quickly became clear that this was going to become an insurance claim.  Fortunately for the owner, CSR has built a great relationship over the years with the major insurance companies due to our ability to stick within estimates and peform amazing work.  On Tuesday the estimate was submitted to the insurance company, on Wednesday it was approved.

Stay tuned as we follow how the repairs are done...
